The Inspector‑General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved a wide‑ranging redeployment of senior officers across the Nigeria Police Force as part of efforts to strengthen operations, improve leadership capacity and boost service delivery nationwide, the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Placid, said on Tuesday.
Disu’s shake‑up reassigns assistant inspectors‑general (AIGs) and commissioners of police (CPs) to new commands, departments and formations to align personnel with strategic operational needs. The IGP urged the moved officers to apply their experience, maintain high professional standards and deepen discipline in their new roles.

The IGP described the postings as strategic moves to reposition experienced commanders where they can most effectively tackle evolving security challenges and improve public safety. The redeployments are part of ongoing organisational adjustments by the new IGP since his inauguration.
