Ben Kure, a former Political Adviser to ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has expressed regret over his support for El-Rufai, accusing him of fostering division during his tenure. Kure, who was part of the team that established the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna, stated that El-Rufai entered politics without a solid foundation and relied on loyalists to secure his governorship.
Kure described his experience under El-Rufai as disappointing, claiming the former governor practiced “politics of exclusion, discrimination, and divide and rule.” He alleged that El-Rufai thrived during crises, manipulating religious and tribal sentiments to achieve his goals.
Despite recognizing these traits during his service, Kure remained loyal to the party, believing that supporting El-Rufai would benefit the APC in the long term. He expressed hope that future leadership would rectify the issues caused by El-Rufai’s administration.
Kure’s comments reflect a growing discontent among former allies of El-Rufai, highlighting the political tensions within Kaduna State.
