David Shikfu Parradang, the former Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), has been tragically killed in Abuja. According to counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, Parradang was abducted in the Area 1 area of Abuja early Tuesday morning.

Reports indicate that he was followed from a bank after withdrawing cash, which the assailants stole before ultimately killing him. This incident has raised fresh concerns about security in the Federal Capital Territory, particularly regarding the rising trend of kidnappings and targeted attacks.

It is yet to be confirmed whether his assailants were kidnappers or armed robbers. Parradang served in the NIS for over 30 years, holding various positions in states including Kano, Lagos, Kwara, and Enugu, as well as in the Federal Capital Territory. He was awarded the national honor of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) and was a distinguished graduate of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).

Security agencies have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his abduction and murder, with efforts underway to apprehend those responsible. While the Nigerian Immigration Service has not yet confirmed the incident, an official at the agency acknowledged its authenticity, stating, “The report is true, but we need to wait for Immigration authorities to make an official publication.”
