Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has officially welcomed Senator Ned Nwoko into the party following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Nwoko cited the ongoing crisis within the PDP as a key reason for his departure, expressing dissatisfaction with the leadership of Delta Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

During the welcome event, Ganduje assured Nwoko that with all three Delta senators now aligned with the APC, the party is poised to win the upcoming governorship election in Delta State. He praised President Bola Tinubu for his reforms, stating that positive changes are already visible, including improved oil production and enhanced security.

In his defection letter, Nwoko described the PDP as a once-strong platform that has now succumbed to internal divisions and a lack of leadership. He emphasized the need for a credible opposition in Nigeria to ensure democratic accountability and stability.

Nwoko has called for the Senate to investigate the crises within the PDP and recommend necessary reforms to strengthen the opposition. He remains committed to serving the people of Delta North and requested that his new party affiliation be officially recorded in the Senate.
