The Office for Strategic Preparedness and Resilience (OSPRE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Operation Safe Corridor Nigeria (OPSC) to enhance non-kinetic strategies for peace and security in Nigeria.
The partnership focuses on the deradicalization, rehabilitation, and reintegration of repentant Boko Haram members, particularly those in Malam Sidi, Gombe State. The agreement aims to standardize approaches in disarmament and support post-conflict recovery in affected communities.
OSPRE Director General Chris Ngwodo emphasized the need for a holistic approach involving all critical stakeholders to achieve common objectives. He noted that the partnership aligns with OSPRE’s mission to evolve tools for addressing asymmetrical conflicts.
Brig.-Gen. Yusuf Ali, the OPSC Coordinator, expressed optimism that this collaboration would contribute significantly to building lasting peace in Nigeria.
