Abdul-Azeez Adediran, known as Jandor, the former Lagos State governorship candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 elections, has officially announced his resignation from the party. He made the announcement at a press briefing held at Liberty Place in Ikeja, Lagos, on March 3, 2025.

Jandor cited issues of indiscipline and anti-party activities within the PDP as his primary reasons for leaving. Accompanied by a large group of supporters, he expressed disappointment with the party’s leadership, particularly criticizing former Deputy National Chairman Chief Olabode George for actions he believes undermined the party’s efforts during the elections.

“I am here before you today with a heavy heart but a clear conscience,” Jandor stated. He emphasized the need for adherence to the principles of democracy and good governance, which he feels the PDP leadership has failed to uphold. He mentioned that persistent internal sabotage and a lack of discipline within the party prompted his decision to part ways.

Jandor indicated that he and his supporters will consult widely before deciding on a new political platform, hinting at a potential shift to another party. This resignation follows his prior conflicts with party leaders over support for his candidacy, particularly from Chief Bode George, who backed the Labour Party candidate in the election.
