The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has cautioned Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo against probing his predecessor, Godwin Obaseki. Wike urged Okpebholo to focus on the state’s development instead, following advice from former governor Adams Oshiomhole to investigate Obaseki’s administration.

Wike, who supported Obaseki during his election campaign, emphasized that probing the former governor would distract Okpebholo from governance. He acknowledged past tensions and expressed that personal grievances should not interfere with the mission of governance.

During a recent event, Oshiomhole had suggested investigating a hotel project and other expenditures during Obaseki’s tenure, which sparked discussions of a commission of inquiry. However, Wike’s appeal highlights the need for unity and progress for the people of Edo State
