Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has announced a reduction in its ex-depot loading cost of petrol to N865 per litre. This price change, communicated to customers on Thursday, marks a decrease of N15 from the previous price of N880 per litre.
This adjustment comes in the wake of the federal government’s commitment to maintaining sales of crude oil and refined products in naira, a policy aimed at supporting local refining, enhancing energy security, and reducing reliance on foreign exchange in the domestic petroleum market.
In a statement released by the Federal Ministry of Finance, officials emphasized that this policy is not a temporary measure but a strategic initiative backed by the Federal Executive Council (FEC). They reaffirmed the government’s dedication to fully implementing this directive to bolster the nation’s energy infrastructure.
This price reduction is expected to have a positive impact on consumers and the economy, promoting greater accessibility to fuel and contributing to the stabilization of fuel prices in Nigeria.
