Abuja faced significant turmoil on Monday when security forces established extensive roadblocks around Eagles Square and the Federal Secretariat to thwart planned protests against the controversial cybercrime law and the emergency rule in Rivers State.

Before dawn, riot police positioned their vehicles to obstruct access to the protest site, resulting in a backlog of commuters and workers who were unable to reach their offices. Many were compelled to exit their buses and walk to work under police supervision.
