Former President Muhammadu Buhari has officially moved from his hometown of Daura in Katsina State to his residence in Kaduna, concluding a 21-month stay since leaving office in May 2023. This relocation was confirmed by his spokesperson, Mallam Garba Shehu, and former aide Bashir Ahmad.

Since stepping down, Buhari has maintained a low profile, engaging primarily in personal activities rather than political affairs. During his move, he was accompanied by several dignitaries, including Vice President Kashim Shettima and various governors, who expressed their support.

Bashir Ahmad shared details on social media about the warm send-off Buhari received in Katsina, where friends and well-wishers gathered to bid him farewell. Security was notably heightened in Kaduna, particularly along the route to Buhari’s new residence, as dignitaries arrived.

Vice President Shettima’s arrival in Kaduna coincided with Buhari’s move, and he was greeted by Governor Uba Sani and other officials before proceeding to meet with the former president privately.
