Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, has urged the Federal Government and security agencies to intensify efforts to locate Brigadier General Musa Uba, Commander of the 25 Brigade of the Nigerian Army. This call comes in light of Uba’s reported ambush and capture by militants from the Islamic State West Africa Province during a convoy operation near Wajiroko village on November 17, 2025.

In a statement issued on November 20, Ndume also demanded urgent action to rescue 25 schoolgirls abducted last Sunday from Government Girls Comprehensive School in Kebbi State. He expressed deep concerns about the overall security challenges facing the North-West and North-East regions, which have seen a rise in banditry, kidnappings, and terrorism.

While the jihadist group claimed in an unverified video that they executed General Uba along with other captured soldiers, the Nigerian Army has initially denied these claims. President Bola Tinubu confirmed Uba’s death, recognizing him as a fallen hero in the fight against terrorism.

Ndume stated, “Let the government and our security agencies act quickly to bring back the Brigade Commander, dead or alive.” He highlighted the necessity of swift action to minimize trauma for the families and communities affected by these incidents.

Commending the sacrifices made by military and security personnel, Ndume called for divine guidance to support federal and state efforts in tackling terrorism, kidnappings, and banditry across the country. As the situation develops, the public eagerly awaits further updates on Uba’s status and measures for the safe return of the abducted schoolgirls.
