Kaduna was in a celebratory mood as Governor Uba Sani took a bold step in empowering rural communities with a groundbreaking financial intervention.
The move, was welcomed by stakeholders as a first of its kind for grassroots development.
Governor Sani presented Community Revolving Fund (CRF) cheques of $25,000 each to 10 selected communities, sparking excitement and hope across the state.
The initiative, aimed at supporting farmer groups in climate-smart rain-fed interventions, underscores Governor Sani’s dedication towards environmental sustainability and economic empowerment.
The event, which saw the presence of the Minister of Environment, Malam Balarabe Abbas Lawal, marked another milestone in Kaduna State’s Rural Transformation Agenda.
Adding to the day’s landmark achievements, Governor Sani also commissioned an Amphibious Excavator (Swamp Buggy)—a cutting-edge machine that will tackle flood risks by desilting riverbeds and clearing drainages.
The proactive approach to flood mitigation according to attendees at the event, further strengthens Kaduna’s position as a frontrunner in climate resilience and environmental management.
The day’s events followed an earlier courtesy visit by a delegation from the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project, led by Dr. Joy Iganya Agene (Task Team Lead) and Malam Abdulhamid Umar (National Project Coordinator).
Commending Kaduna’s strides in environmental sustainability, Dr. Agene noted that the state remains one of the best-performing states in the ACReSAL project—in what stakeholders described as another demonstration of the governor’s visionary leadership.
Speaking at the event, Governor Sani reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to sustainable development, rural empowerment, and climate action.
Participants at the event variously explained that the governor’s leadership has continued to attract national and global recognition, positioning Kaduna as a model for innovative governance in Nigeria.
“With these latest interventions, it is evident that Governor Uba Sani is not just talking about development, he is delivering it”, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Malam Sani Liman Kila said.
