The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Governor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) winner of the Anambra State Governorship Election held on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
The Returning Officer, Prof. Edoba Omoregie, announced the results at the INEC headquarters in Awka on Sunday, confirming Soludo’s sweeping victory across all 21 local government areas of the state.
According to the official figures, Soludo polled a total of 422,664 votes, defeating Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who secured 99,445 votes, while Sir Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) came third with 37,753 votes.
A total of 16 candidates participated in the election. Out of 2,788,864 registered voters, 598,229 were accredited, with 595,298 votes cast. INEC recorded 11,244 rejected ballots across the state.
Prof. Omoregie noted that a few incidents in Anambra West, Anaocha, Awka South, and Onitsha South led to cancellations amounting to 10,481 affected votes, but the margin of lead between the top contenders remained decisive.
“Having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of valid votes cast, Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance is hereby declared winner and returned elected,” the Returning Officer announced.
