The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on the people of Rivers State to back President Bola Tinubu and Governor Siminalayi Fubara in the 2027 general elections. He commended Fubara for his effective governance and project execution.
Despite the political tensions in the state stemming from a rift between Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, Tinubu’s intervention has reportedly led to a signed agreement between the parties. This agreement has raised questions about Fubara’s potential re-election in 2027.
During an event in Port Harcourt, he expressed optimism for Fubara’s future as a member of the APC, highlighting the transformation of Rivers State into a leading model of APC governance in the South-South region. He emphasized the importance of residents rallying behind the party, reflecting on the achievements made under Fubara’s leadership.
The APC Secretary assured attendees that the party symbolizes unity and collective progress, urging the community to recognize the benefits of supporting the APC and its leaders in upcoming elections. He noted that Fubara’s governance has created an environment for continuous development, encouraging residents to vote for the party at all levels.
Fubara, in response, emphasized the significance of the newly inaugurated housing initiative aimed at enhancing the welfare of senior civil servants. He pointed out that the project would alleviate insecurity for officials with family responsibilities and improve their productivity. The governor promised that the initiative would expand beyond just Permanent Secretaries, ensuring similar welfare measures for other civil servants in the future.
Acknowledging the project, a representative from the Federal Government praised Fubara’s focus on the dignity and welfare of public servants, stating that the housing scheme aligns with broader objectives of staff well-being at the national level. The housing estate features modern amenities designed to support the comfort and efficiency of public servants, highlighting a commitment to improve institutional stability within the Rivers State public service
