The major opposition party’s secretariat’s main gate, security house, and portions of an adjacent building were damaged in an incident that is believed to have been caused by explosives, as seen in a video clip that is currently making the rounds on social media.
Chief Tony Okocha, the APC’s State Caretaker Committee Chairman in Rivers State, confirmed the explosion and said the secretariat had been bombed with dynamite .
He continued by saying that the attack on the APC secretariat was carried out by Governor Fubara’s supporters.
Okocha said: “At the wee hours of Saturday, pro-Fubara civilian soldiers detonated dynamites at our office.
“The fire was promptly extinguished by the gate security, foiling the second attempt to set it on fire.”
