The Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reiterated its commitment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda. During a recent meeting in Birnin Kebbi, the governors pledged to align state-level policies with the administration’s national development goals.
Chairman of the forum, Senator Hope Uzodimma, highlighted the meeting as a platform for assessing the nation’s socio-economic direction and the states’ contributions to Nigeria’s transformation. He stressed the importance of collaboration among federal, state, and local governments, promoting a model of cooperative federalism.
A significant point of discussion was the formal reception of Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State into the APC, which Uzodimma described as a historic move, bringing the total number of APC governors to 24. The governors congratulated President Tinubu and the APC leadership on this development, asserting that it enhances national unity and progressive governance.
The forum commended Tinubu for the positive strides in fiscal reforms, food security, and infrastructure modernization, noting improvements in the economy, including declining inflation and rising government revenue. The governors reaffirmed their collective support for policies under the Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing a commitment to inclusive governance and the creation of opportunities for Nigerians.
