The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a N15 reduction in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) across Nigeria, with new prices now ranging from N875 to N905 per litre, depending on location. This new pricing structure was shared on the refinery’s official social media channels on Thursday.
The reduction applies to all major fuel marketers partnered with the refinery, including MRS, Ardova, Heyden, Optima Energy, Techno Oil, and Hyde Energy. Under the previous pricing regime, Lagos residents paid N890 per litre, while prices reached N920 in the North East and South-South regions. With the adjustment, residents in Lagos will now pay N875, and those in the North East and South-South will pay N905.
A breakdown of the revised prices is as follows:
Lagos: N875
South-West: N885
North-East: N905
North-West & Central: N895
South-South & South-East: N905
The Dangote Refinery has encouraged consumers to purchase fuel only from its partner outlets and to report any non-compliance via their hotline. They emphasized that their petrol and diesel are refined for better engine performance and are environmentally friendly.
The price reduction follows the return of a refund benefit policy for customers and comes alongside a resurgence in petrol imports, with over 496.17 million litres imported within just nine days. The refinery attributed the price decrease to a naira-for-crude deal, allowing them to stabilize petrol prices despite fluctuations in global oil markets.
The company reiterated its commitment to maintaining affordable fuel prices to support the Nigerian economy and alleviate consumer burdens.
