Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have apprehended a 75-year-old grandfather, Nna Nnanna Felix, along with two brothers, John Abugu (43) and Kenneth Abugu (31), in separate operations targeting illicit drug activities.

The Abugu brothers were intercepted on Thursday at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos while attempting to board a flight to India. According to NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, the suspects were found with five kilograms of cocaine concealed within the walls of their suitcases. They claimed to be traveling for medical treatment but were caught following credible intelligence.

In addition to the Abugu brothers, a 20-year-old Ghanaian-British national, Parker Darren Hazekia Osei, was arrested at the same airport with 36 parcels of cannabis, known as Loud, weighing 19.40 kilograms. Osei, who is a Computer Science student at East London University, admitted to picking up the drugs in Bangkok for delivery in Nigeria.

In another operation, Nna Felix was arrested on April 5 in Abia State with 1.6 kilograms of skunk, a strain of cannabis. Additionally, a 21-year-old named David Chinemerem was caught in Aba with 2,050 ampoules of pentazocine.

The NDLEA reported significant seizures and arrests in various states, including Kogi, Yobe, and Anambra. In Kogi, a woman was caught transporting 3 kilograms of methamphetamine, while in Yobe, another suspect was arrested with bottles of codeine syrup and
