The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, asserts that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is leading Nigeria with a profound sense of responsibility and faith, believing that history will ultimately judge his administration favorably.
Speaking during a ministerial press briefing in Abuja, Idris emphasized that a nation flourishes when its leaders act with a sense of divine duty. He maintained that the reforms introduced by the president are not only well-intentioned but critical for Nigeria’s growth and development.
“We have crossed a significant threshold, and the initial hardships are beginning to diminish as the beneficial effects of these reforms become clear,” he stated, noting improvements such as a reduction in food prices, stability in exchange rates, and a gradual decrease in fuel costs as indicators of progress.
Idris remarked that history shows meaningful reforms are often challenging and require sacrifice, resilience, and a commitment to long-term improvement. He pointed out that the difficulties associated with these reforms are a necessary sacrifice for achieving a stable and prosperous future.
“Our country is at a pivotal moment as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu implements bold reforms aimed at laying the groundwork for a new Nigeria. History has demonstrated that substantial reforms demand effort, resilience, and a dedication to progress. The initial challenges are a necessary cost for a more solid and prosperous future,” he explained.
Idris expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their patience and unwavering belief in the president’s vision. He also called upon religious leaders to use the current period of Ramadan and Lent to pray for the country’s peace, security, and advancement.
“I urge our Muslim and Christian leaders, especially during this time of fasting and reflection, to continue praying for Nigeria’s success. Through unity, faith, and collective action, we can emerge stronger, more resilient, and better positioned for lasting prosperity,” he concluded.
