The Lagos State Government has called on residents to actively participate in maintaining proper urban planning by reporting any violations of planning regulations.

Oluyinka Olumide, the State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, made this appeal in a statement issued on Wednesday. The statement, signed by Mukaila Sanusi, Deputy Director of Public Affairs in the ministry, emphasized the critical role of citizens in fostering sustainable development.

“Proper planning cannot be achieved without the support and input of the people,” Olumide said. “I encourage Lagosians to report illegal constructions, unauthorized developments, or other planning infractions to help us create a more organized and livable environment.”

Residents can submit complaints through the Lagos MPP&UD App, available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Alternatively, they can contact the ministry directly via hotlines 07030653241 and 08034698264.

The commissioner assured whistleblowers that their identities would be protected and warned that any ministry officials found complicit in illegal activities would face disciplinary action.
