The Anambra State Police Command has launched a manhunt for the killers of three young children, who were found dead in their home in Nise, Awka South Local Government Area.
The children, aged between two and six, were murdered late on Saturday, with their bodies discovered in a Mercedes Benz car parked within the compound.
According to the police, the murderers gained access to the home by scaling the fence and entered unnoticed. After killing the children, they left the scene without being detected. The police were alerted to the crime late on Sunday.
The motive behind the killings remains unclear, but sources suggest that the father of the victims, a native doctor and businessman, may have been involved in a business dispute with some individuals, which could have led to the tragedy.
Spokesperson for the Anambra State Police, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident and said that the police have begun gathering information from local residents and the victim’s family. Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the killings.
The police have vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice.
