Fubara Recognizes Asari Dokubo as Traditional Ruler

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has officially conferred a certificate of recognition to Asari Dokubo, the former Niger Delta militant leader, designating him as the Amayanabo of Torusarama-Piri Elem Kalabari. This significant event took place during the quarterly general meeting of traditional rulers held in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

The recognition ceremony highlighted the governor’s commitment to fostering relationships with traditional institutions. In addition to Dokubo, three other monarchs were honored with certificates:

  • Winston Odiye Alamina (Oputibeya XII, Amayanabo of the Koniju Kingdom)
  • Eze Noble Friday Uwoh (Eze Igbu-Ehuda IV)
  • Ike Ehie (Eze Igbu Orlukwor)

Governor Fubara expressed gratitude for the role of traditional rulers in promoting peace and unity within their communities. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and traditional institutions in addressing local challenges and enhancing development.

The event was attended by various dignitaries and community leaders, who praised the governor’s efforts to strengthen traditional governance structures.
