Social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has alleged that more than ₦180 million was stolen from his NGO’s account due to a hacking incident. In an Instagram video posted on Friday, Otse revealed that the funds were redirected to an unknown account.
“I haven’t been myself these past few days,” he stated. “Someone hacked into the NGO’s website, and now ₦180 million is missing. Fortunately, we’ve identified a suspect, and one person has been arrested.”
Otse mentioned that the account is currently on Post No Debit (PND), with ₦20 million remaining, while ₦160 million was diverted. He indicated plans to travel to Jos to recover the funds.
Additionally, he announced that the NGO’s app has been temporarily taken offline for maintenance to prevent further security breaches and promised to keep his followers updated on the recovery process.
In October, Otse launched the Martins Vincent Osei Initiative, which quickly raised over ₦35 million in donations, including a significant ₦100 million contribution from music producer Don Jazzy.
