The Nigerian Senate has confirmed the appointments of Joseph Tegbe as Minister of Power and Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

The confirmation came 24 hours after President Bola Tinubu formally requested Senate approval in a letter read during plenary by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Both nominees were screened by the Senate in line with constitutional provisions before receiving approval.

Tegbe’s nomination followed the resignation of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, who stepped down to pursue elective office.

Meanwhile, Enikanolaiye was appointed as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs after the elevation of Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu to the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs, having previously served in a junior ministerial role.

Before his nomination, Enikanolaiye, who hails from Kogi State, served as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations.
