Soludo Submits Commissioner Nominees to Anambra Assembly

Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, has forwarded the first batch of commissioner nominees to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the Special Adviser on New Media to the Speaker, Franklin Osankwa. According to the statement, the list was presented during plenary and formally received by the Speaker, Somtochukwu Udeze, who referred it to the Committee on Screening and Election Matters for legislative review.

The list contains 18 nominees, comprising 17 men and one woman, assigned to various ministries.

Those nominated include Dr. Ben Chuks Odoemena (Agriculture), Chukwukadibia Okoye (Budget and Economic Planning), Udoji Amedu (Culture, Entertainment and Tourism), and Dr. Ekene Ogugua (Education). Others are Dr. Clem Aguiyi (Environment), Izuchukwu Okafor (Finance), Dr. Afam Obidike (Health), and Dr. Law Mefor (Information and Value Reformation).

Also on the list are Tobechukwu Nweke (Justice/Attorney-General), Prof. Offornze Amucheazi (Lands), Vin Ezeaka (Local Government and Community Affairs), Prof. Charles Ofoegbu (Petroleum and Mineral Resources), and Chijioke Ojukwu (Physical Planning and Urban Development).

Further nominees include Casmir Agummadu (Power), Okey Ezeobi (Works and Infrastructure), Eddy Ibuzo (Transport), Esther Onyekesi (Women Affairs and Social Development), and Patrick Agha (Youth Development and Sports).

The Assembly is expected to begin the screening process immediately, after which successful nominees will be confirmed.
