Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared that his faction has regained control of the Peoples Democratic Party, urging members who left the party to return.
Wike made the statement amid ongoing internal disputes within the PDP, insisting that the party has been reclaimed and repositioned.
He also criticised former presidential candidate Peter Obi, likening him to governors who abandoned their states during critical moments.
According to Wike, the PDP remains a strong political platform and should be prioritised above individual ambitions.
In a related appeal, former Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido, called on defectors to return to the party, stressing the need for unity and reconciliation.
The party’s leadership also reiterated that no personal ambition should override the collective interest of the PDP as it seeks to rebuild and strengthen its position ahead of future elections.
