Defence Headquarters announced that troops of Operation Hadin Kai have recovered at least 74 terrorist bodies during intensified operations across the North-East region of Nigeria.
In a statement signed by Maj.-Gen. Michael Onoja, the military confirmed that these successes occurred between March 13 and March 19, 2026. Troops reportedly foiled a complex drone-assisted attack, neutralized senior commanders, and repelled assaults in Mallam Fatori, Abadam LGA, Bama, Gujba, and Kaga.
Recovered arms included 38 AK-47 rifles, three PKT machine guns, and an RPG tube. The operations also intercepted gunrunners in Taraba State, rescued abducted victims in Plateau and Benue, and disrupted illegal mining in the FCT and surrounding areas.
In the Niger Delta, troops of Operation Delta Safe dismantled illegal oil bunkering sites, seizing over 3,000 litres of stolen petroleum products, while anti-drug operations led to arrests and the recovery of illicit substances.
In the South-East, Operation Udo Ka neutralized suspected terrorists in Imo and arrested cultists while recovering weapons in Ebonyi and Cross River states.
Maj.-Gen. Onoja stressed that these coordinated operations demonstrate the Armed Forces’ commitment to denying criminal elements freedom of action and ensuring citizens’ safety nationwide.
