Youth leaders and stakeholders from the Southern Kaduna Senatorial District have organized a rally to demand transparency regarding the administration of former governor Nasir El-Rufai, specifically calling for an investigation into the alleged ₦432 billion associated with his tenure.

The coalition, which held the event in Kafanchan, distanced itself from a pro-El-Rufai group, asserting that the attendees do not represent the true sentiments of the Southern Kaduna populace. Speakers, including former Youth leader Nasiru Jagaba and Southern Kaduna Peace and Security Network Chairman Christopher Derek, criticized the solidarity gathering as unrepresentative.

The youth leaders urged federal anti-corruption agencies, including the Department of State Services and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, to thoroughly investigate the financial dealings during El-Rufai’s time in office, particularly regarding public funds allegedly paid to armed bandits.

They emphasized the need for full public disclosure concerning these payments, stating that any undisclosed financial transactions would contradict the state’s commitments to transparency. Furthermore, the coalition highlighted the community’s painful experiences during El-Rufai’s administration, including violence, displacement, and property destruction.
