Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), asserted that supporters of President Bola Tinubu in Rivers State can mobilize support without the help of a sitting governor as the 2027 elections approach.

During the inauguration of the ‘Renewed Hope Ambassadors’ headquarters in Port Harcourt, Wike praised Desmond Akawor, the group’s coordinator, for his effective mobilization efforts. He expressed confidence that Rivers State would actively support Tinubu’s re-election campaign.

Wike stated, “Let me sincerely thank the coordinator for mobilising our people… Rivers state is a no-go area for opposition; this place is for Tinubu.” He commended Akawor’s capacity to unify supporters across all local governments.

The minister highlighted that the commitment to Tinubu’s campaign is genuine and does not rely on having a governor’s backing. He remarked, “We don’t need to have a governor to mobilise for Mr. President; we have all it takes to be on our own.”

Wike also criticized other political leaders in Rivers, alleging their betrayal of the state’s interests, emphasizing the determination of local leaders in their commitment to Tinubu’s presidency.

This declaration showcases a robust grassroots mobilization effort in Rivers State, indicating strong local support for Tinubu’s 2027 campaign.
