The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has raised the pump price of petrol to ₦835 per litre in Lagos and ₦839 per litre in Abuja.

The new pricing took effect on Wednesday across NNPCL retail outlets in the two major cities.

Motorists in Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory were seen adjusting to the increase as the revised rates reflected at filling stations.

The price hike comes amid ongoing volatility in the downstream petroleum sector and concerns over supply and cost pressures.

It will be recalled that the Dangote Petroleum Refinery had, on Tuesday, announced an upward review of the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).

The latest adjustment by NNPCL is expected to have wider implications for transportation costs and general living expenses nationwide.
