Abia North Senator, Orji Uzor Kalu, has declared that Governor Alex Otti will serve only one term in office, vowing that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will reclaim Abia State in the 2027 governorship election.
Addressing supporters at a recent gathering, the former Abia State governor said the APC is fully prepared to take over the state, insisting that Governor Otti lacks the political depth to secure a second term.
Kalu reacted to comments previously attributed to the governor, saying those seeking to succeed him should “write their wills,” dismissing the remark and turning it back on Otti.
According to Kalu, “The governor said people who want to take over from him should go and write their wills. He should go and write his will first because we are taking over.”
He further described Governor Otti as inexperienced in politics, stating that his background in banking does not translate into political strength.
“The governor is a joker. He doesn’t know politics. He is a banker. As far as I’m concerned, he is a one-term governor,” Kalu said.
The senator also pledged to personally lead grassroots mobilisation across Abia State, assuring supporters that the APC would campaign door to door to secure victory in 2027.
He added that the people of Abia would unite in the next election, insisting that electoral manipulation would not be tolerated in the state.
