Peter Obi, the 2023 Presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), has stated that he is better equipped to address Nigeria’s economic and security challenges if elected in 2027.
Speaking during an interactive session on X, Obi emphasized that none of the current presidential aspirants can match his experience in building and managing a successful business.
“I know how to turn Nigeria around. I built my business from scratch and have more experience than any candidate, including the sitting President. I’m a finance person. I know how to manage finance,” he remarked, highlighting the connection between a robust economy and improved security.
Obi committed to fostering the growth of small businesses and manufacturers, identifying them as key economic drivers. He addressed ongoing speculation regarding his political alliances, firmly stating, “I will be on the ballot in 2027.”
He urged his supporters to refrain from violence and personal attacks against opponents, emphasizing that constructive dialogue is crucial. Obi expressed his resolve, stating, “All the insults do not bother me. If calling me stupid or idiot will solve Nigeria’s problems, I’m ready to go to court and change my name to ‘Obi Stupid.’”
Obi remains a supporter of coalition efforts aimed at uniting political forces, advocating for cooperation in addressing Nigeria’s pressing challenges. He encouraged his followers to counter misinformation with truth and engage in healthy debates with opponents.
