Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has officially launched the e-registration initiative for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gudi as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections. The event took place at his Motor Park II polling unit in Akwanga Local Government Area, where the Governor registered himself and his family.

During the launch, Sule urged local residents to actively participate in the e-registration process, stressing that political engagement is crucial for community development. “Development will only come to Gudi if the people participate actively in politics,” he noted.

The Governor expressed appreciation for the party’s efforts at both the national and state levels, commending the APC for adhering to its vision and directives. He highlighted that last week, President Bola Tinubu directed state governors to initiate e-registration during a national party meeting.

Sule also announced that the APC in Nasarawa State has adopted a consensus approach for its upcoming congresses, ensuring unity within the party as they move forward with e-registration.

Dr. Aliyu Bello, the Nasarawa APC Chairman, praised Governor Sule for his support of the party’s vision and explained that only voters with valid voter cards would be eligible to participate in the e-registration. He noted that despite registering over 60 million members in the last election, only 15 million voted, emphasizing the need to boost turnout.

Akwanga Local Government Area Chairman, Safiyanu Isa Andaha, acknowledged Sule’s leadership, stating that it has attracted many new members to the APC, even in regions traditionally dominated by opposition parties.

This e-registration initiative aims to replace the traditional paper-based system, making it easier for citizens to register and update their voting details. As Nigeria gears up for the crucial 2027 elections, the introduction of e-registration signifies a modern approach to political engagement within the APC.
