Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has distributed 1,000 bags of 25kg rice to the Christian community in Bauchi State in celebration of the 2025 Christmas and New Year festivities. The distribution event commenced with a flag-off in Bauchi, where Ayuba Dogara, the Bauchi State Coordinator of the Christian Northern Nigerian Political Forum (CNNPF), praised the First Lady for her timely and impactful gesture towards the Christian faithful during this festive period.

Dogara noted that similar support had been extended to other Northern states, particularly benefiting the less privileged, widows, and youth, alongside members of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The rice will be distributed across all 20 local government areas of Bauchi State through recognized groups to ensure that it reaches those in need.

During the flag-off, Dogara emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in the distribution process, urging local coordinators to ensure that the food items benefit the intended recipients. He encouraged beneficiaries to show gratitude and pray for both the First Lady and her husband, President Bola Tinubu.

Mrs. Bege Matandu, representing the beneficiaries, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the donation, highlighting how it would alleviate the economic hardships many families face during the holiday season. Istifanus Mmanasi, the APC Chairman for Bogoro Local Government Area, characterized the gesture as a sign of inclusive governance, reiterating its significance for both Christians and APC members in the region.

He acknowledged the collaboration between President Tinubu and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, emphasizing that such partnerships would foster development within the community. Mmanasi called on APC members to remain united and committed to the party’s vision as the country moves towards the 2027 elections, expressing confidence that stability would guide Nigeria on a progressive path.
