The Federal Government has secured the release of 130 schoolchildren abducted from St. Mary’s Primary and Secondary School, Papiri, Niger State.
The confirmation was made on Sunday by presidential spokesman, Sunday Dare, in a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle. He stated that all the abducted pupils have been freed, with none left in captivity.
“Another 130 abducted Niger State pupils released. None left in captivity,” Dare wrote.
The announcement was accompanied by photographs showing the freed children smiling alongside an adult woman, signaling their safe return.
The development has brought relief to parents, guardians, and residents of the affected community after days of anxiety following the abduction.
