The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has urged its members nationwide to purchase Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) products from the Dangote Refinery, highlighting that the refinery offers the most affordable prices for marketers. This announcement comes as the refinery prepares to start direct supply to registered IPMAN members, with free delivery commencing in January 2026.
During a press conference in Abuja, IPMAN National President Alhaji Abubakar Maigandi Shettima praised Dangote Refinery’s commitment, acknowledging its contribution to the consistent reduction of petrol prices. Shettima stated that IPMAN controls over 80% of the PMS retail market and assured the public that there will be no scarcity of PMS supply.
He expressed excitement over the supply agreement with Dangote, emphasizing that it will lead to lower pump prices at filling stations. Shettima called on all members to prioritize sourcing from the Dangote Refinery, as it offers the best prices available.
Additionally, he voiced confidence in the government’s oil and gas policies and reiterated IPMAN’s commitment to partnering with the Dangote refinery to ensure the steady availability of PMS products. He argued that domestic refining is essential to eliminate the need for imports and stressed the importance of creating a stable market free from the complications of import licenses, which he claims distort the market.
The association also congratulated the new heads of the oil and gas regulatory bodies and reminded them of outstanding claims owed to its members totaling over N190 billion. Shettima urged immediate attention to these debts as the new leadership assumes their roles.
