Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), solidifying his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Kefas received his APC membership card from his ward chairman in Wukari Local Government Area. An official defection ceremony will be scheduled for a later date.
Kefas’s move follows the defection of the Taraba Assembly Speaker and fifteen other members from the PDP to the APC. These defections are attributed to the PDP’s internal crisis and a desire to align with the federal government.
Kefas’s defection is part of a larger trend of high-profile exits from the PDP, deepening the crisis within the opposition party. Other governors, including those of Bayelsa, Delta, Akwa Ibom, and Enugu States, have also defected to the APC.
