A Russian military cargo plane, an AN-22, crashed during a test flight following repair work in the Ivanovo region. The defense ministry confirmed that seven people were on board at the time of the incident, although their survival status remains unknown.

The crash occurred in an uninhabited area, and search crews have been deployed to locate any survivors. An investigation into the accident has also been initiated. Notably, there is no indication that the crash is linked to Russia’s military activities in Ukraine or any involvement by Kyiv.

The Ivanovo region is situated about 200 kilometers (125 miles) east of Moscow.
