Former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose expressed his frustration over remarks made by former President Olusegun Obasanjo during Fayose’s 65th birthday celebration. In an interview, Fayose revealed that he felt provoked when Obasanjo criticized him, describing him as “not the best” of his political protégés.
Fayose admitted that he was so enraged he contemplated seizing the microphone from Obasanjo. He noted that he had intended to reconcile with his political rivals ahead of the celebration.
Despite reaching out to Obasanjo, Fayose stressed that his call was not an apology, and he criticized the former president for his behavior during the event, which included a lengthy speech filled with veiled attacks. He reflected on his efforts to make peace, expressing disappointment that they were not reciprocated.
