Jude Ezenwafor, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the upcoming Anambra State election on November 8, 2025, has reportedly been shot by unknown gunmen in Abuja. The incident occurred on Friday night near Wuse 2 while Ezenwafor was returning home from an appointment.
Sources indicate that he sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital, where doctors are preparing for surgery to remove bullets from his body. Two others who were with him also suffered injuries and are undergoing medical care.
The motive behind the attack and the identities of the assailants remain unknown, and police investigations are ongoing. When approached for comment, FCT Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh stated she had not been informed about the incident.
PDP insiders have expressed concerns that Ezenwafor’s injuries could impact the party’s campaign plans, depending on the severity of his condition and the speed of his recovery.
