A Tragic incident unfolded on Monday when a tanker, transporting 45,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), overturned and exploded at NICO Farm on the Iseyin/Oyo Road in the Iseyin Local Government Area of Oyo State. The tanker, bearing the registration number LM62XP from Lagos, lost control while in motion, resulting in a catastrophic accident.

According to reports, the tanker tumbled into a nearby ditch and ignited shortly after the accident. Maroof Akinwande, the Chairman of the Fire Service, confirmed that the fire was reported at 10:46 AM. Firefighters acted swiftly, deploying to the scene to combat the blaze.

Upon arrival, the fire crew found the tanker engulfed in flames. They quickly utilized a chemical foam compound, effectively extinguishing the fire and preventing a larger explosion that could have affected nearby structures and vehicles. Akinwande praised the firefighters for their rapid response, which restored normal traffic flow on the road shortly after the incident.
