The Bayelsa Police Command has confirmed the abduction of Justice E.J. Umokoro in Yenagoa, the state capital.
DSP Musa Mohammed, the command’s Public Relations Officer, stated that the judge was kidnapped on Saturday evening while parked at a fast food outlet in the Ekeki area.
According to reports, gunmen fired shots at the eatery’s parking lot before forcibly removing the judge from his vehicle and fleeing in a Toyota Hilux. Justice Umokoro was reportedly waiting for his daughter, who had gone inside to make purchases.
