Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has said his political camp will not repeat the “leadership mistake” made in Rivers State ahead of the 2027 elections.
Wike made the remark during a thank-you visit to the people of Khana Local Government Area in Rivers State, praising them for standing with him and President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 elections.
He said leaders are elected to serve the people, not personal interests, stressing that lessons have been learnt from past political decisions in the state. According to him, future choices will be guided by loyalty and collective interest.
The former governor said the support shown by the Khana people has begun to yield results, citing improved road projects, the University of Environment, and increased federal appointments to Ogoniland.
Wike added that Rivers people would no longer vote strictly along party lines but would instead prioritise development, loyalty and unity in future elections.
