Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has emphasized the unique political unity in Rivers State as he rallies support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections. During a “thank-you” tour in Ahoada West Local Government Area, Wike commended the residents for moving beyond strict loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) or the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He described the political landscape in Rivers as part of the “Renewed Hope Family,” showcasing a cross-party collaboration he likened to a “rainbow coalition.” Wike believes this inclusiveness sets Rivers apart from other states and highlights the state’s ability to come together for a common purpose.
Encouraging other states to emulate this model of broad-based unity, he noted that the strength of Rivers lies not in partisan affiliations but in the shared determination of its people. Wike expressed confidence in the continuation of this cooperative spirit and reaffirmed his support for Tinubu’s reelection, asserting that Rivers has consistently backed the president even in challenging times.
