Lauretta Onochie, former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has publicly ridiculed Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), suggesting he has been “buried politically.”
In a post on X, Onochie accused President Bola Tinubu and Governor Hope Uzodimma of abandoning Wike while handing over political control to Governor Siminilayi Fubara. She asserted that Fubara would secure a second term and appoint Wike’s successor before the end of 2026.
Onochie tweeted, “You have been buried politically already. Not only have @officialABAT and @Hope_Uzodimma1 thrown you under the bus, but the keys to the bus were also handed over to @SimFubaraKSC. How he drives the bus depends on how much pride you can swallow.”
She elaborated, indicating that Fubara might reclaim the six months of tenure lost due to political maneuvering by Wike and Tinubu. “Fubara will get a second term. Fubara will nominate your replacement before the end of 2026. Fubara is your new Godfather,” she concluded.
This statement comes amid ongoing political tensions in Rivers State and highlights the complex dynamics at play as political alliances shift ahead of the upcoming elections.
