President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to visit Borno on Saturday to inaugurate key development projects and attend a high-profile wedding ceremony in Maiduguri. This visit is part of the President’s engagements across selected states during the yuletide period.
While in Maiduguri, Tinubu is expected to inaugurate projects in the aviation, transport, and education sectors, executed by both the Borno State Government and the Federal Government. Among the initiatives, he will open new aviation facilities at the Maiduguri International Airport, including an extension and a VIP wing aimed at enhancing air transport operations in the state. This development is set to strengthen aviation services in the Northeast, particularly amid improving security conditions.
Following the airport inauguration, the president will proceed to Ramat Square to unveil newly procured tricycles designed to improve urban transportation and support livelihood empowerment.
Additionally, Tinubu will inaugurate a newly constructed primary and secondary school in Maiduguri, which has been named in his honor. This project is part of the state government’s broader goal to enhance educational infrastructure and increase enrollment rates.
Later, the president will attend the Nikkah and wedding ceremony of Sadeeq Sheriff, the son of former Borno State Governor Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff, and Hadiza Kam Salem.
After his engagements in Maiduguri, Tinubu will head to Bauchi State to convey his condolences to the state government and the family of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, a prominent Islamic cleric who passed away on November 27.
Finally, the president is expected to conclude his trip by returning to Lagos, where he plans to spend the end-of-year holidays.
