Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has clarified that he received permission from President Bola Tinubu to miss the recent Council of State meeting. This clarification came during the commissioning of access roads in Sector Centre B, Dakibiyu District, Abuja.
Wike dismissed rumors that he boycotted the meeting due to dissatisfaction with the appointment of the new Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Amupitan. He stated that he had informed the President about his prior engagements, leading to the Minister of State representing him at the meeting.
He emphasized the importance of focusing on project delivery and avoiding unnecessary propaganda. Wike reiterated his commitment to working for President Tinubu and highlighted the achievements made under the current administration, attributing them to strong leadership.
Wike praised Tinubu’s leadership, asserting that it has facilitated significant progress in the FCT and beyond. He encouraged others to remain focused on their goals, stating that successful project delivery would silence critics.
