In a shocking series of assaults, terrorists invaded communities in the Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, Nigeria, resulting in the deaths of at least 26 people. The attackers, heavily armed and traveling on motorcycles, struck on Friday and continued their rampage into Saturday morning.

The initial assault occurred in the Feyi community, where six villagers were killed. They then advanced to Tungan Makeri and Nkpaso villages, where the violence escalated, claiming an additional 20 lives and culminating in the arson of a police station in Pissa. According to community sources, the local military responded with a helicopter, but no casualties were reported among the attackers.

The Niger State police confirmed the incidents, indicating that the attacks began around 3 a.m. on February 14, 2026. They reported not only the fatalities but also that an unspecified number of individuals were abducted during the chaos. Joint security teams have been deployed to assess the situation and attempt to rescue the victims.

This assault is part of a disturbing trend, as these communities have faced numerous raids over the past months, resulting in significant loss of life and property. The ongoing violence raises urgent concerns about security in the region and calls for immediate action from state and federal authorities.
