As preparations intensify for the upcoming Nigeria-Brazil Strategic Dialogue Mechanism, Vice President Kashim Shettima has asserted that Nigeria is on a new growth trajectory, ready to attract investments across various sectors. He attributed this positive shift to the strategic policies implemented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Shettima’s remarks came during a meeting at the Presidential Villa with ministers and agency heads, where he expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, stating, “We have a leader who has shown the audacity to hope for a better tomorrow.”
Brazil’s Vice President, Geraldo Alckmin, is scheduled to lead a delegation of top executives to Nigeria for the second session of this dialogue mechanism, marking a significant diplomatic engagement after more than a decade.
Emphasizing the importance of preparation, Shettima urged all Nigerian stakeholders involved in the dialogue to take proactive steps to ensure clarity and strategic coherence in the discussions. “Let’s walk the talk. Drive the process and engage with strategic focus groups for weekly updates as we prepare for the Brazilian delegation,” he advised.
Highlighting the potential benefits of the partnership, Shettima identified key areas for collaboration, including agriculture, culture, tourism, and military technology.
Abubakar Kyari, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, echoed Shettima’s sentiments, stating that the dialogue offers a crucial opportunity to revitalize Nigeria’s agricultural sector. “We have a chance to catch up with the world and move toward food sovereignty,” he noted.
As Nigeria positions itself for greater international collaboration, the upcoming dialogue with Brazil is seen as a pivotal moment for advancing the nation’s development goals.
