The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially submitted the names of Ezenwafor Jude as its governorship candidate and Okeke Francis Chukwudi as his running mate for the Anambra State gubernatorial election scheduled for November 8, 2025.
The party confirmed this in a letter dated May 7, 2025, and received by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on May 12, 2025. The correspondence, signed by Acting National Chairman Ambassador Umar Damagum and National Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu, notified INEC that the party’s primaries, monitored by the commission, produced Ezenwafor as the flagbearer.
The letter also introduced Okeke Chukwudi as the deputy governorship candidate and stated that all required forms and credentials—EC-9, EC-9B, and EC-13B—had been submitted for both candidates. PDP emphasized its commitment to following due process and requested acknowledgment from INEC.
The Anambra election is part of the next wave of off-cycle polls, drawing attention from parties and political observers ahead of the 2027 general elections.
